OUR STANDARDS

Evidence first. Always.

A transparent approach to specifications, hands-on testing, and editorial judgment.

What is published today

This launch edition contains source-backed device profiles and editorial guides. We have not completed hands-on testing of the listed devices. There are no lab ratings or claimed field-test results. A research profile is not a tested recommendation.

Three distinct kinds of evidence

Published specifications are claims attributed to the manufacturer. Measured results will come from a documented hands-on test. Editorial analysis explains tradeoffs and questions, and does not turn a specification into a measured result.

The planned test protocol

For edge hardware, record the exact board, host, model revision, quantization, runtime, software image, power mode, cooling, and ambient conditions. Measure cold start, latency, sustained throughput, and wall power with a consistent workload. Repeat runs and publish variation. For consumer gear, record the phone, firmware, app, region, settings, test period, and a repeatable mix of daily tasks. Keep a failure diary alongside successes.

How we will score

Scores will only follow documented tests. We will publish the category criteria and any weighting alongside the review. Devices in different classes will not be placed on a universal leaderboard. A product’s suitability depends on the reader’s task.

Editorial independence

There are no paid placements, affiliate buying links, sponsored reviews, or manufacturer-supplied test results presented as our own in this launch edition. Any future loan, sponsorship, or commercial relationship must be disclosed next to the relevant content.

Updates and corrections

Each device profile identifies its primary source and verification date. Firmware, feature availability, prices, and subscriptions can change. A correction should identify the changed claim, its source, and the date; a material retest should explain what changed in the setup.
